First, you must have that strong dedication and will to serve others without expecting to be paid in return. It is the most important characteristic you must have in order to serve efficiently as a volunteer. Next is your interest. On what field you want to be deployed as a volunteer? Do you want to be a medical volunteer? Your interest will reflect on the right volunteer opportunity that fits you. Your skills are also of plus factor in being a good volunteer. For instance, you know some carpentry and home-building skills. You can use it in charitable activities that construct housing units for poor families.
